Making Peaceful Connections Abroad

Peaceful Fruits’ team member Margo took a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina for two weeks to learn Spanish- and make connections and experiences around the world as it was her first time in South America. Here’s what she had to say about her trip:

I left for Buenos Aires on the first weekend of January 2017 aiming to start the year on a good note - by learning something new and giving back. I have never been south of the equator and have been inspired by the amazing things and people who have roots in South America ( like Peaceful Fruits and soccer!) so I felt like it was time!

I spent two weeks in the city, taking Spanish classes in the morning at a school called Expanish (For anyone thinking about taking a trip and/or learning a new language, I would highly recommend them!) with people from all over the world, and volunteering at a children’s home in the afternoon.

My time in Buenos Aires was a great learning experience, but it was also truly humbling to see the world in a new light.  And it was a friendly reminder that despite everything going on, there are always opportunities to connect with others, give back, and live meaningfully.

Coming back to the U.S., I am newly refreshed to continue making better- and peaceful- connections in 2017- with people, the community, and companies that have impacts with social good missions.
